SUMMARY:Direct Action Training in Winston!
DESCRIPTION:How to plan a pipeline protest!\nwith Southern Oregon Rising Tide \nJoin us from noon to 4 pm on Tuesday\, September 15th at Riverbend Park in Winston\, Oregon for a lively training on how to plan and execute non-violent direct action to protect our homes from greedy fossil fuel corporations. We’ll be learning about a variety of tactics\, such as rallys\, office sit-ins\, street theatre\, marches and pipeline blockades! The training will be participatory and will culminate in a planning session for an upcoming event to oppose the proposed Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline. Light lunch and beverages provided\, bathroom available on site. \nWho is Southern Oregon Rising Tide? SORT is a new organization forming in rural Southern Oregon to promote community-based solutions to the climate crisis and take direct action to confront the root causes of climate change. We are part of a vibrant coalition of organizations across Oregon that are taking action against the proposed Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline and Jordan Cove Export Terminal\, and we are also a member of the Rising Tide North America network- more info at risingtidenorthamerica.org \nContact us at SORT@risingtidenorthamerica.org to RSVP not required\, just recommended)\, if you have any questions\, if you have childcare or accessibility needs for the training\, or just to say “hey.” You can also leave a message for Grace at (541) 808 0842.
